About the Position
Bob The Mover Niagara Inc. is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to plan, organize, direct and evaluate the administrative operations of our moving and storage business.
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing administrative systems and procedures, supervising employees, coordinating staffing and scheduling, maintaining company standards, assisting with business planning and ensuring day-to-day administrative operations run effectively.
This is a permanent, full-time, on-site management position based in Fort Erie, Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct and evaluate the company's day-to-day administrative operations.
- Develop, implement and review administrative procedures, policies and operating standards.
- Coordinate staff scheduling, work assignments and administrative resources.
- Recruit, train, supervise and provide performance feedback to employees.
- Monitor staff performance and ensure company procedures and service standards are followed.
- Coordinate administrative activities related to staffing, purchasing, supplies and business operations.
- Maintain and oversee business records, documentation and administrative systems.
- Monitor operating costs and assist with budgeting and expenditure control.
- Prepare operational and administrative reports for ownership and management.
- Identify operational problems and implement process improvements.
- Handle escalated customer-service matters and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation.
- Coordinate with employees, suppliers and service providers to support company operations.
- Ensure company administrative procedures comply with applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support management in planning changes to staffing, schedules, procedures and business operations.
Qualifications
- College diploma or bachelor's degree in business administration, management or a related administrative-services field.
- Several years of professional experience in business administration, administrative services, operations or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to supervise, train and evaluate employees.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Experience with business scheduling, administrative or customer-management software is an asset.
