Job Summary:
The Events Associate provides the customer with a premium experience in the serving and sale of our craft beer and food products. Support Hayloft events (including pre-booked Hayloft and ticketed signature events and tour operations to promote the brand and secure event bookings). Promotes the brand at off-site beer-pouring events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a tour of Hayloft and explain service offerings for potential event bookings; Lead private/public groups through brewery tours and tastings with high energy and passion.
- Coordinate with retail staff at the start of the event (e.g., arrivals, parking) and collaborate with event staff, including catering, to ensure smooth event execution.
- Prepare events according to function sheets, adhering to client agreements, contract guidelines, and instructions from the Events Coordinator.
- Greet clients and group planners, ensuring excellent service and customer satisfaction
- Effectively address concerns and surpass expectations through strong leadership and clear communication.
- Take ownership of The Hayloft, handling opening and closing duties.
- Ensure proper sanitation, maintenance, security, and accident prevention guidelines are followed to protect the safety and well-being of guests and employees.
- Follow billing instructions and process transactions accurately on the POS system.
- Work safely in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and related regulations; Wear personal protective equipment as required. Follow safe food/beer handling/sanitation requirements.
- Perform additional duties as needed, including:
o Retail – provide beer tastings and sell beer.
o Patio – serves food and drinks to customers.
o Social media – help with product/experience pictures.
o Administration– office tasks.
- Support off-site events by representing the brewery, engaging with guests, and professionally promoting products·
Required Qualifications:
- Secondary School Graduate Diploma
- Smart Serve certification
- Cicerone Certification is an asset
- Proven experience in food, beverage, and alcohol serving, including point-of-sale transactions
- Knowledge of the craft beer industry
- Customize each customer’s experience to encourage return visits
- Be a positive, outgoing, and great team player
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to de-escalate customer issues
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced, guest-facing retail and hospitality setting
- Combination of indoor and outdoor work at the brewery
- Standing for extended periods; frequent walking and moving
- Lifting up to 50 lbs (beer cases, kegs, merchandise)
- Weekend, holiday, and occasional evening shifts required

Compensation:
- Base salary plus tips as part of the overall compensation package.
Reports To: General Manager or Supervisor
Must be available to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours up to 2 AM to 3 AM.
