Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a full-time Executive Assistant (School Secretary) for Harmony Public Charter School (HPCS) as its opens for its first year in August 2026. HPCS is a newly approved charter school by Alberta Education and the Government of Alberta. Teachers deliver the Alberta Program of Studies and enrollment is tuition-free. The school's focus will be Africentered and our website is www.hpcsalberta.ca . The school will operate in north-central Edmonton with an anticipated enrollment of 125 to 150 students in Kindergarten to Grade Six.

All applicants must be Canadian citizens or have the official documentation to work in Canada.

Applicants should possess these skills and qualifications:

Proven clerical or administrative experience in an office or school setting.
Proficiency with Power School, PASI, Student Information Systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and familiarity with multi-line phone systems.
A growth mindset and the commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Effective team building experience.
Exceptional communication skills dealing with students, parents, staff and community members.
Attention to detail for proofreading documents and maintaining accurate records.
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Prior office experience in an educational setting is a plus but not required.
Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision.
Ability to handle registrations, maintain student records, coordinate daily attendance, order supplies and equipment.
Commitment to confidentiality in all school-related matters.
Experience and training in first aid or the willingness to take the appropriate courses.
This role is vital in supporting the principal’s leadership team while fostering a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors alike.

Pay: $21.58-$35.00 per hour
