Community Living North Bay is dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. We recognize the unique abilities and strengths of every person, which not only enrich our community but also shape a workplace that celebrates diversity and inclusion.

Community Living North Bay is seeking dedicated Part-Time Direct Support Professionals for our Day & Weekend Respite Program. This program provides short-term relief and support to families of youth/adults with intellectual or physical disabilities by coordinating safe, inclusive, and meaningful respite.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Part-Time Direct Support Professional provides care and support to individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities. This role promotes personal growth, community involvement, and social connection, while offering temporary respite to caregivers in a safe and inclusive setting.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS ROLE?

Support individuals in achieving their personal goals as outlined in their support plans.
Assist with medication administration in accordance with policy.
Promote a safe, respectful environment free from abuse and neglect.
Follow individualized support plans to ensure consistent, person-centered care.

ARE YOU THE RIGHT PERSON?

DSW diploma/certificate, Diploma in Human Services.
Experience and demonstrated ability working with youth/adults with an intellectual disability and/ or physical disability.
Experience providing personal care to youth/adults in a residential setting. You have the ability to maintain a high standard of privacy and confidentiality.
You believe in support that fosters life skills, advocacy, safety and security that meet the vision, values, and mission statement of Community Living North Bay.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
Vulnerable Sector Non-Criminal Check.
A valid Ontario Driver’s License.
Bilingualism- French/English is an asset.

COMPENSATION: $24.55 per hour, plus 4.25% in lieu of benefits, plus 4 % in lieu of vacation, plus optional participation in pension plan.

SCHEDULE: Friday to Sunday, twice a month
