Here’s the job opportunity…

In this new vacancy we are looking for a Compliance Specialist, AML to support the administration and ongoing effectiveness of ivari’s Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) program. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance, this role is responsible for supporting AML/ATF reporting, enhanced due diligence, ongoing monitoring, transaction monitoring, investigations, and compliance record-keeping.

In this role, you will help identify and assess higher-risk activity, conduct research and screening, support regulatory reporting, and ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with internal policies and regulatory expectations. You will work closely with Compliance team members and business partners to help detect, deter, and prevent money laundering and terrorist financing risk. In this role you will

Monitor enhanced due diligence reporting and identify policies requiring ongoing monitoring.
Research client information, adverse media, politically exposed persons, and other risk indicators to identify high-risk cases.
Analyze transactions, complete research, and support Know Your Client documentation updates.
Review unusual activity reporting and suspicious transaction reporting, applying AML/ATF indicators and escalation requirements.
Prepare monthly OSFI reporting and conduct weekly terrorist name searches, ensuring required reviews and follow-ups are completed within established timelines.
Prepare high-risk and PEP reporting and respond to related inquiries from internal stakeholders.
Maintain accurate AML/ATF records, files, and documentation on SharePoint, the N drive, and with required regulatory bodies such as FINTRAC and OSFI.
Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance AML/ATF processes, controls, and documentation.

What we are looking for…

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Compliance focusing on AML/ATF requirements, risk indicators, and industry practices, ideally within financial services or insurance.
Experience conducting research, analyzing risk information, and documenting findings clearly and accurately.
Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to recognize when issues require escalation.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and sensitive regulatory requirements.
Comfort working with spreadsheets, risk assessments, databases, and compliance documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Compliance colleagues, front-line teams, business partners, and external vendors.
A relevant post-secondary degree is preferred.
ACAMS or CAMLI accreditation is considered an asset.
