Summary:
DMC is currently looking for an Intermediate Designer, Mechanical to join our team on a permanent basis, based in Vaughan, ON. The Intermediate Designer, Mechanical for designing and drafting mechanical systems for heavy industry and mining projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design and layout of mechanical/process equipment, including: conveyor systems, hoists, mechanical assembly drawing using 3D and 2D tools.
- Proficiency in reading technical documentation – reviewing shop/manufacturing drawings.
- Preparation of technical documentation using AutoCAD.
- Production of technical documentation (2D drawings) based on previously prepared models.
- Prepare and review drawings and designs to ensure standards of quality and accuracy are met.
- Work and collaborate with other discipline teams.
- Work in conjunction with engineers.
- Create CAD drawings as per project/client requirements.
- Coordinate with all disciplines on requirements for assigned area.
- Desire to expand knowledge in the field of mining solutions.
Qualifications:
- A technical college graduation with two (2) to four (4) years of experience, or an equivalent combination of studies and related experience.
- Mining / Heavy industrial Experience (Asset)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD/AutoCAD Plant 3D
- Working knowledge of the Revit environment
- Working knowledge of Database Driven CAD.
- Working knowledge of the SolidWorks environment.
- Familiarity with standards for creating technical documentation.
- Proactive approach. Independence.
- Able to write technical documents and specifications.
- Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of Engineering standards, codes, regulations and guidelines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to solve unconventional problems, curiosity in designing solutions.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Plus all other duties assigned.
Additional Information:
- Salary Range is expected to be between $79,000 to $101,000 + short-term incentive plan bonus
