Senior Database Administrator

Key Requirements

Experience in database management and administration

Strong expertise in DB2 and MySQL database systems

Design, implement, and maintain database systems ensuring high availability, reliability, and security

Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for performance and efficiency

Implement and manage indexing strategies to improve query performance

Experience integrating databases with Java and Python applications

Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions

Ensure data integrity along with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior database administrators

Stay updated with emerging database technologies and industry best practices

Strong understanding of database security concepts and compliance requirements

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Skills

Experience with cloud-based database solutions such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL

Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra

Certifications in DB2, MySQL, or related database technologies

Salary Range - CA$ 90,000 - CA$ 110,000 Per Year
