Position Title: Part-Time Professor, Master of Computer Science in Cybersecurity Operations and Management
Status: Contract on a semester-by-semester basis
Faculty/Department: Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology
Campus/Location: North Campus; Hybrid
Salary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the collective agreement for academic employees.
About the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology at Humber:
Humber Polytechnic has launched Ontario's first applied master's degree in cybersecurity, the Master of Computer Science in Cybersecurity Operations and Management. Developed in close collaboration with industry, the program prepares graduates to lead in both technical and strategic cybersecurity roles, from security analyst and architect through to CISO. The curriculum spans integrated infrastructure security, advanced network security, secure software development and DevSecOps, threat intelligence, cryptography and post-quantum cryptography, cloud security, AI ethics and governance, cybersecurity leadership, incident response and crisis management, and a 300-plus hour industry applied research project. Students learn in the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation, with access to a dedicated data centre, cyber range, and penetration testing facilities.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be required to teach graduate-level courses in the program beginning in Fall 2026. Depending on expertise and availability, teaching assignments may include one or more of the following areas: Integrated infrastructure cybersecurity (digital, physical, and supply chain security) Advanced network security, including IDS/IPS, segmentation, and ethical hacking Cybersecurity architecture, secure software development, and DevSecOps Threat intelligence and analysis Cryptography and post-quantum cryptography Cloud security and virtual platforms Cybersecurity and AI ethics, governance, and privacy Cybersecurity leadership and strategic management Security operations, incident response, digital forensics, and crisis management Supervision of applied industry research projects. Faculty will deliver engaging, applied instruction through lectures, hands-on labs, simulations, and case studies, assess student learning, and mentor students undertaking research projects with industry partners.

Education
A completed PhD in computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, or a closely related field is required.
Experience/Skills
In addition, the successful candidate will have:

Significant professional experience in cybersecurity or a related technical domain, with demonstrated expertise in areas such as network security, security architecture, cloud security, cryptography, threat intelligence, or security operations.

Teaching experience at the post-secondary level, preferably at the graduate level, or an equivalent record of professional training, mentoring, or technical leadership.

Experience supervising applied research, capstone projects, or industry-partnered student work; this is considered an asset.

Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, OSCP, or GIAC certifications); these are considered assets.

A record of applied research, publications, or industry contributions in cybersecurity; this is considered an asset.

Strong communication skills and a commitment to student-centred, experiential learning.
