Horizon Maritime Ltd. is seeking a dedicated 2nd Class Motor Marine Engineer to join our team in Canada. This role is vital in maintaining the operational integrity of our maritime vessels and supporting our mission to deliver reliable maritime solutions. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic organization committed to safety and excellence. This position is a set contract of 2 months, seasonal, and located on-site in Hay River, Northwest Territories.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine engines and related systems to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor engine performance and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime
- Assist in the inspection and testing of mechanical systems onboard vessels
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and technical reports
- Collaborate with the crew to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures
- Support vessel operations by providing technical expertise during voyages
- Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid 2nd Class Motor Marine Engineer certification
- Proven experience in marine engine maintenance and repair
- Strong mechanical knowledge relevant to maritime engines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Good communication skills and customer service orientation
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards onboard vessels
