Full job description

Job Overview

Modern Construction Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Road Technician to join our Quality Control Team. The successful candidate will perform field inspections, material sampling, and quality control testing on asphalt paving projects to ensure compliance with contract specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Conduct field quality control testing on asphalt paving projects.
Collecte asphalt and aggregate samples from plants and construction sites.
Perform density testing using non-nuclear density gauges and other testing equipment.
Monitor paving operations and document temperatures, lift thicknesses, and compaction result.
Verify compliance with project specifications, and quality standards.
Complete daily inspection reports and maintain accurate testing records.
Communicate test results and observations to Quality Control Supervisor, and asphalt plant personnel.
Assist with troubleshooting quality issues during production and paving operations.
Maintain and calibrate testing equipment.
Follow all company safety policies and site-specific safety requirements.

Qualifications

Experience in asphalt testing or operations.
Experience in asphalt, aggregates, road construction, or materials testing preferred.
Familiarity with provincial highway specifications and testing procedures.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and work on active construction sites for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 25kgs (55 lbs)

This role is vital for maintaining high-quality standards in asphalt paving projects and ensuring the durability and safety of completed roads. We value candidates who are committed to excellence in construction inspection and quality assurance.

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
