Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Technologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the design and development of architectural projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on innovative projects within a collaborative environment, utilizing advanced drafting and project management tools. Fluency in English is required, and bilingual abilities in French are considered an asset.

Duties

Develop detailed architectural drawings and schematics using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Civil 3D.
Create and modify 3D models and visualizations with SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign to support project presentations.
Prepare technical documents, blueprints, and schematics for residential and commercial construction projects.
Utilize Bluebeam for document review, markup, and collaboration with team members and clients.
Assist in project management tasks including scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Microsoft Outlook.
Conduct analysis of design options considering structural integrity, cost efficiency, and compliance with building codes.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project specifications are met accurately.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise execution of design intent.
Support construction phases by providing technical guidance during manufacturing or site implementation.
Maintain organized documentation of project files and revisions for efficient workflow management.

Qualifications

Proven experience with architectural drafting software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, NavisWorks, Schematics tools, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Strong knowledge of construction processes in residential and commercial sectors.
Excellent analysis skills with the ability to evaluate design options critically.
Bilingual proficiency in English; French language skills are a plus.
Demonstrated project management capabilities including time management and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills for presentations and client interactions.
Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical schematics.
Strong computer skills across Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, Outlook, as well as CAD-based drafting tools.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to construction materials is advantageous.
Educational background in architecture or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.
