Full job description

Position Title: Recreation Attendant

Location: 75 White Point #2, Hunts Point, Nova Scotia, Canada

Reports To: Recreation, Leisure & Retail Manager

Resort Division: Resort Services

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:

Promoting a fun and relaxing environment for our guests, this role reports directly to the Recreation and Leisure Manager or Recreation Supervisor. Is responsible for maintaining the recreation areas for guests and assists the Recreation Department in facilitating recreation activities during peak times.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing efficient, attentive and friendly service to the guest
Adherence to established standards
Supervising and Ensuring staff are following established standards
Practices good customer relations and suggestive selling
Quality of grooming
Quality of friendliness and sensitivity to guests' needs
Quality of service provided
Degree of guest acceptance and satisfaction
Quality of coordinating with peers and results achieved

Qualifications:

WHMIS
First Aid
Providing direct guest services in the work area
Maintaining cleanliness of the work area
Programming in the work area
Reports to work on time and in full uniform
Follows established sign in/out procedures
Knowledge of services offered in the hotel
Maintains staff adherence to established standards
Maintains staffing levels and provides training
Maintenance and cleanliness of work area (pools, change rooms, corridors, and grounds)
Maintains guest adherence to regulations of areas
Maintenance and cleanliness equipment and storage spaces
Maintenance and organization of recreation supplies
Greeting guests in a friendly manner
Other duties as assigned by management
Informs manager of guest comments promptly
Appearance and Grooming including name tag
Service
Arranges and cleans furniture, fixtures, equipment
Ensures cleanliness of areas
Provides towel service for pool deck
Removes any abandoned debris, clothing, towels from area
Removes excess water from floors
Maintains supply inventory
Maintains games room equipment and replace as necessary
Maintains boathouse equipment and replace as necessary
Schedules and trains staff according to established standards
Programming
Plans area activities
Implements activities
Evaluates activities
Use of Social Skills
Greets guests
Addresses guest
Conversing with guest
Answering the telephone
Dealing with complaints
Dealing with difficult customers
Working harmoniously with colleagues and management

Working Conditions:

● Must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays

● Required to move, lift, carry, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance

● Stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift

● Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling

● Move over sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces
