The Company

B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Team Lead, Electrician, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Superintendent, Electrician, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the daily activities of electricians, ensuring all tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures and safety regulations.
Guide the installation, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, communication systems, conduits, cables, and other related equipment/infrastructure in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), B2Gold Nunavut's safety policies and procedures and other applicable regulations.
Provide advanced analytical and trouble shooting skills to identify and solve day-to-day issues with mine electrical systems.
Oversee and participate in the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical components, including underground substations, pump stations, power distribution systems, and surface infrastructure.
Conduct regular safety inspections and hazard assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks and conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for electrical activities.
Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior electricians, apprentices, and helpers to promote skill development and knowledge sharing.
Work closely with supervisors, planners, and other trades to schedule preventive maintenance and plan corrective repairs.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repair reports; ensure logs and work orders are completed properly.
Respond to electrical failures or power outages and coordinate prompt corrective actions to restore safe operations.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

Five (5) years of industrial or mining electrical experience with one (1) year experience in a supervisory role.
Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician ticket.
Familiarity with reading electrical schematics and prints is required, with preference given to those with a working knowledge of the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment in mining operations.
Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and industry best practices.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $161,226.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $58.50 and overtime rate of $87.75) in a work year.
