Full job description

Create exceptional desserts in one of Winnipeg’s most unique culinary settings.

Manitoba Club is one of Canada's oldest private members clubs, known for exceptional dining, memorable events and outstanding hospitality. In addition to serving our members in our elegant dining spaces, we host weddings, corporate events, celebrations and private functions throughout the year.

We’re looking for a passionate full-time Pastry Assistant to join our culinary team. Working alongside our talented Pastry Chef, you’ll help create a wide variety of desserts enjoyed by our members and guests, from beautifully plated a la carte desserts to wedding cakes, buffets and pastries.

If you love baking, enjoy learning new techniques, and take pride in creating desserts that look as good as they taste, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Create
You’ll have the opportunity to assist in preparing:
● Elegant plated desserts for our dining room
● Cakes and desserts for weddings and special events
● House-made ice creams and sorbets
● Macarons, cookies, tarts, pastries and other baked goods
● Dessert displays and buffets for corporate and private functions
● Take-out desserts and specialty orders

What You’ll Do
● Assist the Pastry Chef with daily dessert preparation
● Plate desserts for à la carte service
● Bake, decorate and finish pastries and cakes
● Prepare house-made ice creams and sorbets
● Support pastry production for weddings, member events and private functions
● Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry kitchen

Schedule
Tuesday to Saturday
2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. (or as required)

What We’re Looking For
● Previous pastry experience
● Culinary or pastry-focused education
● A passion for baking and creating beautiful desserts
● Strong attention to detail
● A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team
● Creative and willing to innovate with flavour and techniques

● Skilled in chocolate an asset
