About the Role – How you will Contribute to the Service:
Position Title: Application Support Services Supervisor
Employment: Continuing Full Time
We are seeking an experienced Application Support Services Supervisor to oversee the administration, coordination, and continuous improvement of our enterprise applications and database environments. This role is responsible for providing overall direction to database and enterprise application administration functions, including the supervision of database administrators and critical application support staff. The successful candidate will lead database architecture and design standards, support enterprise-wide capacity planning, and collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate business processes, systems, and user requirements to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. This position also provides coordination and support for project management activities and plays a key role in delivering secure, high-performing, and reliable technology solutions across the organization.
Here’s what you will get to do…….
- Addresses and resolves production and development issues, database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
- Develops, implements and maintains unit tests of database programs. Installs and maintains database software.
- Manages backup and recovery of databases. Manages security of database structures and data held within databases.
- Develops database procedures, triggers and SQL scripts. Maintains database changes. Monitors databases for errors and troubleshoots when necessary
- Oversees troubleshooting and resolution of complex application issues, including hands-on involvement where needed to support the team and drive timely resolution.
- Ensures proper planning and execution of application upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management activities to maintain system performance, security, and reliability.
- Leads and coordinates application deployments, rollouts, and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and smooth transition into production environments.
- Works closely with business units to understand operational needs and ensure application performance aligns with organizational requirements.
- Supports the team in translating business requirements into technical solutions and ensures clear communication between business and technical stakeholders.
- Oversees testing, validation, and post-implementation support to ensure system changes meet expectations and remain stable.
- Ensures documentation, procedures, and training materials are maintained to support both the team and end users.
What you’ll Bring to the Role:
Education:
- Minimum 3-year community college diploma in computer science, database/application development, or other related field.
- Database Administrator Certification required.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience in databased administration with specific experience in SQL server.
- Proven track in: managing critical business applications and resolving complex and time-sensitive production outages.
- Previous experience in Database Administration (DBA) management and robust backup/recovery strategies and data security frameworks.
- Strong proficiency in writing and maintaining SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and unit testing database code.
- Experience planning and executing application upgrades, software patches, and deployment rollouts with minimal downtime.
- Proven ability to work directly with business units to translate operational needs into stable technical solutions.
- Experience overseeing system testing, post-implementation validation, and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment through effective coaching, guidance, and performance management.

Core Working Hours: 35 hours per week: Monday - Friday
Salary Range: $128,724 -$143,026 per annum (Effective July 1, 2026)
