- Maintaining and extending existing Python-based internal tools
- Managing on-premises and cloud servers and web services that are hosted on them
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting local network hardware and software such as routers, switches, load balancers, security appliances, VPNs, firewall configurations, DNS services, and DHCP services
- Implementing cybersecurity best practices to protect both new and existing internal systems, infrastructure, networks, and data on-premises and in the cloud
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation for internal tools, systems, and network architecture
- Collaborating with colleagues across all organizational functions (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and more) to understand internal tooling needs and deliver solutions that meet them
- Evaluating, selecting, and coordinating with vendors on the procurement of network hardware
- As the team grows, potential to help define and lead a dedicated internal tools full-stack engineering vertical
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3+ years of experience in full-stack software development and IT infrastructure
- Proficiency with programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Python) and modern frontend/backend frameworks (e.g., React or Vue; Node.js/Express, Flask, FastAPI, or Django)
- Experience with SQL (specifically PostgreSQL) and time series (specifically InfluxDB) database management, including writing/optimizing queries and building visualizations and alerting systems with tools such as Grafana
- Experience managing on-premises and cloud server infrastructure (e.g., Linux administration, deployment, and services such as Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure), including containerization/orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong knowledge of computer networking fundamentals and the TCP/IP protocol stack, including proficiency with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, VPNs, and SSL/TLS certificate services
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and best practices for internal systems and networks, on-prem and in the cloud
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
Bonus Requirements:
- Experience with other database systems (NoSQL, etc.)
- Proficiency with monitoring/alerting tools beyond Grafana
- Experience with virtualization platforms and hypervisors (e.g., VMware or Proxmox)
- Relevant networking certifications (e.g., CCNA or equivalent)
- Experience managing hybrid on-prem/cloud environments
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
- Prior experience building or leading a team or function from the ground up
Benefits:
- Competitive salary and performance bonuses
- Opportunity to own and shape internal tools, infrastructure, and networking end-to-end, across both on-prem and cloud environments
- Collaborative and supportive work environment alongside a diverse team of both software engineers and engineers of other disciplines
- Upscale open-concept office and kitchen
- Frequent team building activities
- Flexible schedule
- Conveniently located across the street from the Bronte GO Station
