About the Company

We are a well-established importer and distributor of socks, hosiery, and cold weather accessories and apparel, serving some of Canada's most recognized major retail chains. With a strong foundation in the Canadian market and long-standing relationships with top-tier retailers, we pride ourselves on delivering quality products and dependable service. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced sales leader to carry our business forward and build on the success we have achieved.

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Senior Vice President of Sales to lead and manage our Canadian retail account portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and growing our relationships with major retail partners across Canada. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of the Canadian retail landscape, a demonstrated ability to build and expand relationships with buyers and senior decision-makers at major retail organizations, and a proven track record of driving sales growth in the apparel and accessories industry.

Location and Travel

Our office is in Oakville, Ontario. We would prefer the successful candidate to be based within reach of the office and present in person on a regular basis, but this is a preference rather than a requirement — for the right candidate we are open to discussing alternative arrangements. The role requires regular travel across Canada to meet customers and attend buying meetings.

Responsibilities

● Manage and grow a portfolio of major Canadian retail accounts across the country.

● Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with buyers and key decision-makers at major retail partners.

● Present and sell our product lines to retail buyers, including seasonal collections and new product introductions.

● Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed annual revenue targets.

● Travel across Canada to meet with customers, attend buying meetings, and maintain a strong in-person presence with retail partners.

● Collaborate with internal teams including merchandising, logistics, and marketing to ensure seamless account management and product delivery.

● Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and retailer needs to identify new business opportunities.

● Prepare and deliver sales forecasts, account plans, and performance reports to senior leadership.

● Negotiate pricing, terms, and promotional programs with retail partners.

● Represent the company at trade shows, buying meetings, and industry events as required.

Requirements

● Minimum 10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior sales role managing major retail accounts.

● Demonstrated success building, managing and expanding relationships with buyers and senior decision-makers at major retail organizations, together with strong knowledge of Canadian retail channels and buying practices.

● Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in the apparel, accessories, or related industries.

● Deep understanding of the Canadian retail landscape and how major retailers operate.

● Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.

● Ability and willingness to travel extensively across Canada on a regular basis.

● Experience managing the full sales cycle from product presentation through to order and delivery.

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with sales reporting tools.

● Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to Have

● Experience in the sock, hosiery, or cold weather accessories and apparel category.

● Experience selling into mass merchant and off-price retail sectors.

● Experience working with imported or private label product lines.

● Bilingual in English and French — an asset given the national scope of the role.

● Familiarity with retail planning cycles, seasonal buying calendars, and promotional planning.

● Experience presenting at line review meetings with major retailers.

Compensation & Benefits

● Base salary plus performance-based commission, set to market for a senior national sales role. Full details are discussed at first interview.

● 3 weeks paid vacation annually.

● Expense account provided to support travel and customer entertainment requirements.
