Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Rock Truck Operator to join our construction team. This vital role involves operating heavy-duty trucks to transport materials across construction sites, ensuring efficient workflow and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience with heavy equipment operation, including dump trucks, and have a solid understanding of construction site procedures. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision and safety awareness in a dynamic environment.

Duties

Operate rock trucks and other heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, graders, and paving equipment to move materials efficiently across the site
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on trucks and related equipment to ensure optimal performance
Assist with site preparation activities using horizontal drilling, bulldozers, or other construction machinery as needed
Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
Coordinate with team members to load and unload materials accurately and safely
Maintain detailed logs of material transport and equipment usage for project documentation
Support other construction operations requiring mechanical knowledge or heavy equipment expertise

Experience

Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as Caterpillar machinery, excavators, graders, dozers, loaders, backhoes, and paving equipment
Construction experience preferred, with a focus on heavy equipment operation in demanding environments
Knowledge of mechanical systems related to heavy machinery and troubleshooting skills
Experience with commercial driving regulations and safe truck operation practices
Familiarity with horizontal drilling techniques is a plus
Ability to work safely around construction sites while maintaining high productivity standards
Prior experience in similar roles involving heavy equipment operation within construction or mining industries is highly desirable
