Executive Solutions Ltd. - Okotoks, AB, Canada

Our client, a well-established small public accounting firm in Okotoks, is seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive environment with great people, a positive culture, and strong client relationships. If you are looking for meaningful work that is close to home without the downtown commute, this could be the role for you!

As an Accounting Technician with at least 5 years of public practice experience, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting activities including bookkeeping, corporate financial statements, personal income tax returns, etc. You will work directly with clients across industries, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and personalized service. This role will also require providing vacation relief and backup support for the receptionist / administrative assistant.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare financial statements and working papers using CaseWare.
Complete personal tax returns using Profile software.
Handle compilation engagements, bookkeeping, and GST returns as required.
Communicate directly with clients in order to address questions, provide guidance, and deliver excellent service.
Collaborate with the firm’s owner and team members to ensure that quality standards are met.
Support the receptionist / administrative assistant in performing tasks such as answering telephones and greeting clients.

Qualifications

Proficient with using CaseWare, Profile, Sage, QuickBooks Desktop, and QBO software.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
