We're now entering one of the most exciting chapters in our history.
A significant expansion is underway that will transform D'Arcy Ranch Golf Club from a primarily seasonal operation into a thriving year-round business. As we continue to grow and diversify, we are seeking an experienced Director of Finance & Controller to join our senior leadership team and help shape the financial strategy that will support this next stage of success.
Reporting directly to the President, this role offers a unique opportunity to influence strategic business decisions while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day financial operations of the organization.
About the Role
As the senior financial leader for D'Arcy Ranch Golf Club, you will provide both strategic direction and hands-on leadership across all areas of finance and accounting. You'll work closely with the President and leadership team to ensure sound financial management, support business growth, improve operational performance, and provide the financial insight needed to make informed decisions.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Financial Leadership
- Partner with the President and senior leadership team to develop and execute the organization's financial strategy.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations that support strategic business decisions.
- Monitor organizational performance, profitability, and key financial metrics.
- Evaluate business opportunities, capital investments, and financial risks.
- Support major growth initiatives as D'Arcy Ranch expands into year-round operations.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Develop financial forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity requirements.
- Analyze budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide meaningful financial reporting that supports operational and strategic decision-making.
Accounting & Controller Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations, including:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Payroll oversight
- General Ledger
- Fixed Assets
- Bank reconciliations
Additional responsibilities include:
- Ensuring accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintaining strong internal controls and accounting policies.
- Managing banking relationships and treasury functions.
- Safeguarding the integrity of financial records.
- Coordinating with external accountants, financial institutions, and lenders.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Coordinate the annual Review Engagement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, GST filings, and corporate reporting requirements.
- Maintain financial controls and policies that protect company assets.
- Assist leadership with insurance matters, legal matters, regulatory requirements, and risk management initiatives.
Leadership & Systems
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and administrative team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with department managers across the organization.
- Support and improve financial systems, accounting software, POS systems, and reporting tools.
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency through technology and process improvements.
Qualifications
We're seeking an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with proven leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Seven to ten years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Minimum of five years in a senior finance leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Financial reporting
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Cash flow management
- Internal controls
- Financial analysis
- Accounting operations
- Experience working with external accountants, financial institutions, lenders, and regulatory agencies.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in golf, hospitality, recreation, tourism, or other service-based industries is an asset but not required.
