Brown’s Industrial Services is currently seeking an experienced, highly organized, and strategic VP of Support Services to lead our administrative and operational support functions. The VP of Support Services is responsible for overseeing all administrative, operational, and support functions that enable efficient project execution and business operations within a construction company.
This role ensures seamless coordination between field operations and office teams. As we continue to grow, we are focused on strengthening our internal operations and support systems to drive efficiency, accountability, and long-term success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, and payroll coordination
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting and project cost tracking
- Collaborate closely with internal or external accounting teams to maintain strong financial controls
- Monitor project budgets, cash flow, and financial performance to support profitability
- Oversee progress billing, lien waivers, and contract-related financial documentation
- Establish and improve financial processes, controls, and reporting systems
- Prepare, analyze, and present operational and financial reports to senior leadership
- Provide clear, timely communication and insights to support executive decision-making
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics for support services functions
- Monitor performance metrics and recommend actionable improvements
- Serve as a key liaison between departments and executive leadership
- Oversee day-to-day office operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high productivity
- Develop, implement, and maintain administrative systems, policies, and procedures
- Manage office staff, including administrative assistants, reception, and clerical personnel
- Ensure proper document management, filing systems, and record retention (contracts, permits, drawings, etc.)
- Maintain office equipment, supplies, and vendor relationships
- Administer company policies, benefits, and performance management processes
- Support workforce planning and coordination of field staffing needs
- Develop and execute operational strategies to improve efficiency and scalability
- Partner with executive leadership on company growth initiatives and process improvements
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance collaboration between departments
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in office management, operations, or support services
- 5+ years in a leadership role (for VP-level responsibilities)
- Strong understanding of construction operations, project workflows, and documentation
- Exceptional communication skills, including executive-level reporting and presentations with proven ability to interpret and present financial data to executive leadership
- Experience with financial tracking, project coordination, and compliance
- Strong organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, accounting, construction/project management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Procore)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract,
- Must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test and Physical demands analysis.
