About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. Role Overview/Purpose:

The Dewatering Millwright will be responsible for performing a full range of maintenance, repair, and service activities. The incumbent will use considerable judgment in making decisions and be able to perform all tasks in accordance with Alamos’ workplace safety rules and regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
Preparing layouts in conformance to pump and piping installations
Maintaining, rebuilding and installation of pump assemblies
Welding and cutting experience would be an asset
Mobile diesel mechanical experience would be an asset
Rigging and hoisting experience required
Equipment operation would be an asset (IE, Backhoe, Skid Steer, Loader, Service Truck with Jib)
Other tasks as assigned

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

Completion of a 4-year apprentice program OR a minimum of 5 years’ millwright-related work experience and high school, college, or industry courses
Open Pit common core modules would be considered an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract
Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in an environment of change; must be creative and flexible

Working Conditions:

The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of 14 days on and 14 off (day and night shifts)
Position is subject to call outs
Although you will be assigned a work schedule, this is not a guaranteed schedule of hours, and your work hours may vary with the needs of the company.
Pay or shift range: $43.60 CAD to $67.32 CAD
