As a Senior Inside Sales Representative, you will sell lighting, electrical, and industrial safety supplies to customers across government, institutional, industrial, commercial, retail, and contractor segments throughout the GTA territory. You will primarily be selling to procurement and operations decision-makers at municipal bodies, property management companies, and contractors. This role is 80% inside sales order management, quoting, and account development combined with 20% technical product support and cross-functional team support. You will be working with an existing book of house accounts while supporting outside sales representatives with inquiries, quotes, and follow-ups. This is a well-established position reporting directly to the President. The base salary is $80,000 - $90,000 CAD.

Our client was founded approximately in 1995 and is a privately owned company currently in an active growth stage, with year-over-year growth ranging from 5% to 30%. Based in Mississauga, Ontario, they are a distributor of lighting, electrical, and industrial safety supplies serving customers across every major vertical in Canada. Their focus is on LED retrofit solutions and custom product integration with building control systems - they operate as a solutions partner, not just a commodity supplier.
The team is approximately 28 people across two companies under one leadership structure, with half the team having been with the organization for 15 or more years. The culture is customer-first, team-oriented, and solutions-driven. Leadership's philosophy: if they cannot bring value to a customer, they are just another supplier. Key clients include the City of Mississauga, GTAA, Brookfield Property Management, and Black & MacDonald.
• Head Office: Mississauga, Ontario
• Work arrangement: Office-based, Monday through Friday. Counter and floor presence required daily.
• Territory: Greater Toronto Area - supporting inside sales operations and the outside sales team across the full customer base
• Overnight travel: Not required
• Hours: Full-time days - either 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (flexible)
• Driver's licence: Not required for this role
• 7 or more years of senior-level inside sales or order desk experience in electrical or lighting distribution (demonstrated product competence matters more than exact tenure)
• Electrical background is required - strong technical product knowledge in electrical and ideally lighting distribution is the single most important qualification for this role
• Comfortable operating independently as a senior contributor without day-to-day supervision
• Experience with CRM systems - comfortable keeping activity logs accurate and current
• B2B inside sales experience - experience supporting both outside sales teams and direct customer accounts
• Post-secondary education is not required - professional experience equivalent is accepted
• Strong technical product knowledge in electrical and lighting products - the ability to answer detailed product questions from customers and outside sales reps without escalation
• CRM software proficiency - Basic to Intermediate (specific platform to be confirmed)
• Microsoft Office - Basic proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Familiarity with order entry systems and quoting tools used in electrical distribution environments

• Customer-first culture where every rep is empowered to solve problems
• 40 to 50% - Core inside sales: handling customer calls, preparing quotes, and processing orders with accuracy and speed
• 20% - Quote follow-up and account development: chasing outstanding quotes and growing assigned house accounts within the existing customer base
• 15% - Technical product support: answering electrical and lighting product questions for customers, outside reps, and teammates
• 15% - Supporting outside sales reps: ensuring inquiries are quoted, followed up on, and resolved promptly
• Remaining time - Counter coverage, supplier escalations, and cross-functional support
Key responsibilities include managing a high volume of quoting, order entry, and customer follow-up with accuracy; acting as the senior technical resource for electrical and lighting products; supporting assigned outside reps; following up on outstanding quotes; developing and growing house accounts; and maintaining accurate CRM records.
