CNC Apprentice

About the Role
We are seeking CNC Apprentices eager to start a career in precision machining. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who want to learn, grow, and advance in the CNC machining field. You’ll receive hands-on training, guidance from experienced professionals, and the chance to develop your skills in a dynamic and growing company.
As a CNC Apprentice, you will work closely with skilled machinists and learn how to set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines. You’ll gain practical experience and acquire valuable skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with setup and operation of CNC machines: Learn how to operate both CNC milling and turning machines.
Tooling and setup: Gain experience in selecting and setting up appropriate tooling for different machining tasks.
Blueprint interpretation: Learn how to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and charts.
Learn manual G-code programming: Get hands-on experience with programming CNC machines to execute specific machining tasks.
Precision measuring: Use tools such as micrometers and calipers to ensure parts meet required specifications.
Collaborate with the team: Work alongside machinists to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

Basic math skills and a strong interest in working with machinery.
Attention to detail: Ability to work accurately and meet tight tolerances.
Strong work ethic and motivation to develop new skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Education & Experience

1 year of CNC machining Experience Preferred
High school diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions

Shop environment with exposure to noise, sparks, grinding debris, and moving equipment.
Regular lifting, bending, kneeling, sitting and standing for extended periods.
Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have an attention for detail to ensure tight deadlines are met.

Safety & Quality Expectations

Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety legislation and company safety procedures.
Follow all quality control processes and documentation requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
