Full job description

Zafarro Restoration Inc. is a Canadian restoration contractor specializing in building envelope restoration, concrete repair, waterproofing, masonry restoration, balcony rehabilitation, and underground parking garage restoration. We work on residential and commercial high-rise buildings throughout the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions.

We are looking for motivated Civil Engineering students who want to gain real-world experience in the restoration and rehabilitation of existing structures.

Position Overview:

This internship provides an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced project managers and site supervisors on high-rise restoration projects. You will gain hands-on experience in building inspections, project coordination, estimating, construction management, and interpreting engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

Assist with site inspections and condition assessments.
Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and structural details.
Develop an understanding of high-rise building restoration, including:
Balcony restoration
Brick and masonry repairs
Concrete restoration
Building envelope systems
Waterproofing
Underground parking garage restoration
Explain drawings, details, and construction procedures to site supervisors and field crews to help ensure work is completed according to project specifications.
Assist with quantity take-offs and cost estimating.
Support project managers with scheduling, project documentation, and quality control.
Prepare daily reports, RFIs, and site documentation.
Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, engineers, and clients as required.

Qualifications:

Interest in structural restoration, concrete repair, building envelope systems, and construction management.
Comfortable communicating technical information to field personnel and helping crews understand project drawings and specifications.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar software is considered an asset.
Valid G driver's licence is an asset.
