About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Third Cook to join our kitchen team at Musselwhite Mine. The Third Cook will assist with daily food preparation, meal service, cleaning, and overall kitchen operations while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and production requirements.
- Assist with breakfast, lunch, dinner, salads, sandwiches, and grab-and-go items.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, temperature, labelling, and storage procedures.
- Rotate food using FIFO and properly store and cool leftovers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
- Assist with meal service, overtime meals, and other kitchen duties as required.
- Support other areas of the kitchen during busy periods or staffing shortages.
- Ensure required preparation is completed for the incoming shift.
- Work as part of a team to ensure meals and kitchen duties are completed efficiently.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Manager.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience in a commercial, institutional, restaurant, or camp environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
- Reliable, hardworking, and willing to assist where needed.
- Ability to work a job in a remote camp environment.
