Join our dynamic team as a Dog Bather/Groomer Apprentice and embark on an exciting journey into the world of pet grooming! This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop essential skills in dog bathing, grooming techniques, and customer service while working in a lively, pet-friendly environment. As an apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced groomers, helping to ensure every dog leaves looking and feeling their best. Your enthusiasm, attention to detail, and love for animals will be key drivers of success in this role.
Duties
- Assist senior groomers with bathing, drying, brushing, and basic grooming of dogs of various sizes and breeds
- Learn to handle dogs safely and compassionately throughout the grooming process
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, stations, and work areas to ensure a hygienic environment
- Support the team by lifting and moving dogs safely, adhering to proper heavy lifting techniques
- Provide friendly customer service by greeting pet owners, answering basic questions, and ensuring a positive experience for clients
- Follow grooming instructions carefully to meet each pet’s specific needs and owner preferences
- Help with inventory management by organizing grooming supplies and products
Qualifications
- Passion for animals and eagerness to learn grooming skills in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling larger dogs or equipment
- Excellent communication skills and a positive team-oriented mindset
- Willingness to follow instructions carefully and develop new technical skills
- Prior experience with pets or in a customer-facing role is a plus but not required; training will be provided
- Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing compassionate care for all animals
