Summer Internship Opportunities
Are you looking to have fun and gain hands on work experience this summer? If you are a college or university student who will be returning to school in September 2026 and are looking for experience in supporting people with disabilities, we have two paid summer internship positions open at our supported living program in Munster (Ottawa) and our Adult Day Services Program.
Your main duties will be supporting young adults with a variety of developmental and physical disabilities in a home setting or recreational setting. You will be integral in the day to day lives of our clients and developing their life skills while providing quality care. Help foster lifelong friendships and community connections.
The internship is from June 2026, until August 22nd, 2026, and has a guarantee of 35 hours per week with a rotation of: Sundays to Thursdays 2pm-10pm, or Tuesdays to Saturdays 2pm-10pm within the supported living program. Our Day Program would be Mondays to Fridays, 8:30am to 4pm.
Some of the duties are as follows:
- Support individuals with daily living as required including, but not limited to, personal care-including showering, toileting, care of personal items etc. and teaching basic skills such as meal preparation, nutrition, finances, housekeeping, laundry, and shopping.
- Participate, implement, and support all Individual Support Plans and Behaviour Protocols to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all individuals.
- Facilitating fun and inclusive recreational and/or social activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous work experience or education program enrollment/completion an asset.
- Access to a vehicle an asset as some locations are NOT bus accessible.
- Must be returning to school in September 2026
- Must have current valid CPR/First Aid training
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check
- Must be available to work shifts as described above.
- Access to a vehicle required for our Munster location as it is not accessible by public transit
