The Opportunity
In this role you will be working closely with our aquatic team to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all. You’ll deliver fun, safe, and high-quality lessons using our Splash N’ Learn swim program.

Responsibilities
Lesson Instruction
Know and adhere to the Splash N’ Learn team standards, mission, vision, and core values
Provide swimming instruction of strokes and skills in a progressive manner using the Splash N’ Learn swim program and teaching methods
Always maintains an upbeat and friendly attitude
Be on time and present for all scheduled shifts and in uniform at all times while on shift
Check iclass prior to each shift for any class changes and/or makeups
Know each student by name
Follow assigned core plans and lesson plans for the session
Complete skill trees on iclass and provide comments and feedback accurately and professionally
Assist Aquatic Supervisor with tasks if class is not present
Safety & Supervision
Supervision of the participants and accident prevention
Correct unsafe or inaccurate behaviour as needed
Keep pool deck clean, orderly, and safe both on and after shift
Responds to any aquatic or first aid situations ensuring emergency procedures are being followed
Ensures compliance with Ontario Health regulations and all relevant legislation and Policy and Procedures manuals
Team & Facility Support
Assists with deck and equipment set up for start of programs
Assist with takedown and storage of equipment at the end of programs
Attends and participates in all mandatory meetings and training sessions
Communicates student progress with the Aquatic Supervisor
Assists with facility cleaning and maintenance as required
Qualifications
Current Bronze Cross certification
Current LSS Swim or Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certifications
Current Standard First Aid certification
Current National Lifeguard or Assistant Lifeguard award preferred
Current Splash N’ Learn Instructor certification
Must attend and successfully complete related mandatory and sessional training sessions
Acceptable police check for vulnerable sector
