We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Inside Sales/Estimator to join our growing team in a large custom manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for creating detailed mechanical designs, supporting estimating activities, maintaining engineering documentation, and collaborating closely with manufacturing teams to ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and to quality standards.
The ideal candidate brings strong 3D modeling experience, a practical understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to work collaboratively across engineering, Sales production, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Quotations
- Update customer pricing in part maintenance for all items quoted.
- Prepare weekly reporting and follow up for Sales and tasks.
- Maintain Customer Maintenance within Visual
- Fiscal review of customer orders and filing.
- Prepare and update reports, spreadsheets and administrative documents, as per requirements.
- Provide administrative support to the Sales and Marketing Team by maintaining the customer database, customer profiles and customer files within the Portal.
- Attend continuous improvements meetings and complete projects, as required.
- Respond to and assist with customer inquiries, as assigned.
- Provide backup support for Order Entry, as required.
- Promote product line.
- Understand, update and follow the policies and procedures of the Quality Management System
- Understand the Health & Safety Management System
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing or custom fabrication environment
- Proficient with Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling and detailed manufacturing drawings
- Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, welding, and manufacturing processes
- Experience preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting ERP systems; Visual ERP experience is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a production environment
- Knowledge of engineering change management and revision control processes
- Familiarity with quality standards, manufacturing documentation, and Health & Safety requirements
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering documentation tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in custom manufacturing, industrial equipment, or heavy fabrication environments
- Exposure to estimating, costing, or project coordination functions
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems
