McMaster University, Department of Pediatrics in conjunction with Hamilton Health Sciences, is seeking a full-time academic physician to join the Division of Pediatric Nephrology and provide care at McMaster Children’s Hospital.

The Division of Nephrology consists of four full-time academic physicians. We provide comprehensive specialty care for patients on an inpatient and outpatient nephrology service including management of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, renal replacement therapy (PD and HD) and plasmapheresis. CRRT is provided by PICU with nephrology input. We are proud to have incredible support from our 2 nurse practitioners, 2 clinic nurses, renal dietitian, nephrology social worker and hemodialysis nurses. We have a thriving fellowship program with 2 overseas fellows. Successful candidate will have an opportunity to take over existing hypertension clinic or develop additional specialized and multidisciplinary clinical program.

Position Requirements:
This position will incorporate an academic appointment, and salary will align with the Dept of Pediatric Practice Plans and academic rank will be commensurate with the experience of the applicant. The Division of Pediatric Nephrology currently consists of faculty members with a wide range of clinical, academic and research interests. We offer a collegial atmosphere, a unique academic environment, many research opportunities and the opportunity to work in a growing academic department with enthusiastic colleagues.
The ideal candidate will possess the following requirements:
Applicants at Associate and Assistant Professor levels are encouraged to apply.
Completed subspecialty training in Pediatric Nephrology.
Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada ideally in both Pediatrics and Nephrology and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.
Have a vision for an academic career in Nephrology including demonstrated productivity in the field through education, research, advocacy, or administration.
Leadership experience or interest in academic leadership roles (e.g., Program Director) is considered an asset.
