Job Summary:

As a Business Intelligence Analyst specialized in Power BI, you will play a pivotal role in transforming healthcare data into actionable insights. Your primary responsibility will be to gather requirements, design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that support strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and healthcare quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with diverse stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into automated reports and meaningful visualizations
Develop interactive and user-friendly Power BI reports and dashboards tailored to healthcare needs
Design, automate, and optimize data models to enable efficient data analysis
Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency while maintaining compliance with healthcare data privacy laws (e.g. PHIPA, PIPEDA) and organization data governance policies
Implement security measures to protect sensitive healthcare information
Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability and usability of Power BI reports
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, clinicians, pharmacists, and accountants, to identify analytics challenges and deliver business insights to support data-driven decisions
Work as a data subject matter expert and support end-users by providing training and assistance on Power Bi usage

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Statistics or a related field
3+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI report development and requirements gathering, preferably with healthcare data sources
Strong proficiency in DAX, M, SQL, data modeling and visualization, ETL processes and Excel
Excellent communication skills with a commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of business stakeholders
Detail-oriented and resourceful with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Familiarity with Canadian healthcare regulations and privacy laws
