The Senior Sales Analyst is a key team member of the Sales Operations department who is responsible for supporting national sales objectives and planning through providing analysis, insights, and recommendations to achieve Mazda Canada's (MCI) critical key performance indicators (KPI’s) for sales operations. This role is responsible for all national sales reporting and analytics, supporting MCI’s national production, inventory, and volume plan (GVS) for retail, fleet, and wholesale, while consistently identifying trends and utilizing a PDCA (Plan Do Check Act) approach to improve sales & profitability for MCI and our Retail partners.
Essential Duties include (but are not limited to):
NATIONAL SALES REPORTING
- Develop and analyze sales reporting utilizing internal and external data to accurately report and forecast national sales results.
- Provide insights for management to help establish and recognize trends and patterns and provide recommendations on future sales and production planning.
- Track, analyze and evaluate critical sales KPI’s and provide proactive core business insights and strategic action plan recommendations to management.
MAZDA CORPORATE ANALYSIS AND STUDIES
- Provide analysis and insights for Mazda Corporate requests regarding market share, sales opportunities and risks, inventory management, market research, sales trends, and forward planning recommendations.
- Collaborate with other internal departments and external vendors to gather the necessary information/data to provide MC with an understanding of MCI’s business strategy.
INTERNAL MEETING SUPPORT
- Prepare high-quality status updates and insights that recognize and anticipate trends and patterns, while providing forward planning recommendations for management and senior executives.
- Manage month-end update reporting to monitor and track performance to objectives for retail, dealer fleet, and national fleet by region and carline.
- Support the sales operations team in the preparation and submission of our volume plan and production forecast to Mazda Corporate.
- Manage and coordinate our monthly PDCA meeting, which includes developing analysis and studies of our critical KPI’s and industry trends, collaborating with other internal departments, recording stakeholder feedback during the meeting, including developing action items and tracking follow-up to ensure implementation.
INVENTORY ANALYSIS AND INDUSTRY REPORTING
- Develop and maintain monthly and ad-hoc inventory health analytics and reporting to ensure proper inventory and sales mix balance, dealer days' supply, and MCI days' supply.
- Work with other Sales Operations personnel to understand production restrictions and forecast their potential impact on future sales.
- Relationship owner for key Industry Reporting.
INTERNAL, REGIONAL, RETAILER, AND THIRD-PARTY SUPPORT
- Work in collaboration with internal departments, regional operations, Retail partners, and third-party vendors to achieve and improve MCI’s national sales and profitability objectives, while delivering exceptional customer service to all parties that are in-line with our common purpose and behavioural guidelines.
Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge & Skills Required):
- Post-secondary education in business analytics, data analytics, business administration, economics, statistics, data science, or business management.
- 3-5 years’ relevant work experience in analytics, sales planning, business development, or an automotive sales operations environment.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate meaningful insights in data and provide recommendations to management that will impact decision making and future planning.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Very detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in all aspects of the position.
- Customer service focused for internal stakeholders and Retail partners.
- High degree of self-initiative.
- Ability to effectively cope with change and ambiguity, shifting gears comfortably.
- Comfortable presenting to Senior Management and internal stakeholders
- Bilingual (English/French) verbal and written communication skills is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of MCI and our Dealer network is an asset.

Hiring Hourly Range for position: $36.00 - $46.00/hr CAD. The hourly rate offered will consider the successful candidate’s experience, skills, and competencies, and will be set in a manner that supports fair and consistent internal equity practices.
