Overview
This is a hands-on bench role supporting our electrochemical biosensor development for real-time inline analytics. You will work closely with our research scientists to execute experiments, prepare materials, and maintain lab operations. You are the person keeping the bench running and the data flowing.
Responsibilities
- Perform bench work supporting electrochemical sensor development: electrode fabrication, surface modification, calibration, and characterization
- Run experiments and tests according to established protocols, and flag anomalies or performance issues
- Assist in evaluating sensor performance under realistic bioprocess conditions, including relevant matrices and operating ranges
- Maintain rigorous lab documentation, including experimental protocols, lab notebooks, and data logs
- Strong knowledge of lab safety protocols, including PPE use and proper handling of chemicals, WHMIS and Material Safety Data Sheets
Qualifications
- 2-3 years hands-on lab experience, ideally including exposure to electrochemistry or biosensing techniques (e.g., amperometric, potentiometric, or related methods)
- BSc, or MSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, lab technician/technologist certification or a closely related field
- Comfortable following detailed experimental protocols with precision and consistency
- Good troubleshooting instincts and willingness to flag unexpected results or issues
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and data recording
Nice to Have
- Experience with electrode fabrication or surface chemistry techniques
- Experience with optical sensors
- Exposure to bioprocessing, fermentation, or cell culture environments
- Familiarity with lab instrumentation such as potentiostats or related electrochemical analysis equipment

Pay: $45,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
