SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team on an 18-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This role is ideal for a clinician who values professional autonomy, flexibility and a collaborative work environment.

At ACT, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping children and youth achieve their communication goals while benefiting from a supportive team and streamlined administrative processes.

In this position, you will provide individualized assessment and treatment services to a diverse client population, applying your clinical expertise across a range of communication needs. You will collaborate with colleagues in a client-centred, multidisciplinary environment while supporting clients and families in achieving meaningful communication outcomes.

Position Type

Full-time, fixed-term contract with possible extension.
Contract Term: 18 months (September 2026 – March 2028)
Monday – Friday

Locations

The role is primarily on-site, with occasional opportunities for remote work as operational needs allow.

The successful candidate will be required to work at two of the following locations:

2713 Lancaster Rd., Ottawa

Salary and Benefits

$79,560.00 - $94,477.50 annually based on experience and qualifications.
Earn vacation pay with every paycheck in accordance with a four-week annual vacation entitlement.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and provide direct intervention for pediatric clients with various communication difficulties, including coaching parents and caregivers.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive individualized programming.
Provide supervision of Communicative Disorders Assistants.
Participate in teaching and mentoring students and staff in best practices.
Adhere to the standards of practice regarding assessment protocols and therapeutic techniques.
Maintain documentation (clinical and administrative) following organizational policies.
Maintain confidentiality following organizational policies.
Participate in ongoing professional education and development.
Participate in all team meetings when required.

Requirements

M.Sc. in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
Membership (or eligibility for) with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
Experience working directly with autistic or neurodiverse children is an asset.
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work independently and co-operatively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
The ability to provide service in both English and French is preferred.
A successful Vulnerable Sector screen.
Reliable transportation to assigned clinic sites.

ACT Learning Centre is a leading-edge, dynamic, multidisciplinary practice in Ottawa and Kingston. We are a multidisciplinary team of Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Registered Behaviour Analysts, Communicative Disorders Assistants, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Classroom Facilitators and Supervised Instructor Therapists, providing exceptional services to children and youth with autism or other developmental disorders/delays and their families.

We have a busy multidisciplinary practice with multiple locations throughout Ottawa and a growing private practice in Kingston.
