Human Resources Assistant/Admin

Work Location: On-site Position, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, QC

Type of Employment: Employee Contract with Third-party Agency

Required Degree: College Diploma or Certificate in HR

Required Experience: 1+ years of experience in an HR position, ideally in logistics or transportation industry

About Us:

Playing a leading role in the global logistics market with unique logistics services. With its innovative IT technology, our organization developed the integrated logistics solution in 2010, started its logistics business in 2012 and expanded its logistics business with Business Process Outsourcing. As an HR Assistant, you will be the primary HR support in our QC Warehouse. You will work closely with business leaders and functional managers, to execute the HR strategy, HR office management in order to achieve business results. You will assist in proactive solutions to drive and facilitate change initiatives and continuous improvement projects in support of the client group and occasionally the broader business. You will work in all HR areas including benefits, employee relations, performance management, policy/procedure interpretation, employee communications, employee engagement and organizational effectiveness for the client groups.

Responsibilities

- Develop and assist communication process to support organization changes in the QC Warehouse

- Help coach managers with new and upcoming trainings (e.g., health and safety training, orientation trainings and compliance trainings)

- Support time attendance record in QC, miscellaneous correspondence, reports, and complete other daily responsibilities as directed by site HR Lead

- Assist QC employees with labour relations issues

- Assist QC managers with communications, team meetings, recognition processes and team building; Plan, coordinate and champion team member events.

- Maintain QC accurate training records and certifications, conduct annual WHMIS training, and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

- Support CNESST claims, including completing RTW (Return to Work) forms and plans, and conducting injury follow-ups.

- Support QC field operations in investigating and following up on collision and accident incidents.

- Assist QC Environmental Management System audits and related activities.

- Assist monthly Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and conduct safety talks.

- Promote safety awareness and conduct hazard assessments to identify and mitigate risks.

- Support performance management process and improvement plan in QC/process with HR management and other managers and assist with development plans

- Interpret the application of all HR policies

- Assist HR team in the job requisition process and job description development and maintenance with managers

- Review organization structure for effectiveness (right person assigned the right work); assist HR in staffing plans

Requirements/Qualifications:

- Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources, or Business Administration, or a related stream with minimum 1 years’ work experience in Logistics, Health and Safety or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines, with strong organizational and time management skills

- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other office products.

- Proven ability to proactively drive and support change management efforts

- Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information with absolute discretion & tact

- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong analytical assessment skills

- Self-starter with ability to take on new challenges
