Who We Are

Desert Park Exhibition Society is a non-profit organization located in Osoyoos, BC providing year-round equine boarding and RV camping. We are also an equine event venue; we host harness races, barrel races, and more. We are ready to expand and hire an organized individual to coordinate our team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Office Manager/Event Coordinator to lead our administrative operations and orchestrate memorable events that foster community and engagement. This role is vital in maintaining a smooth-running organization. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities with enthusiasm and professionalism. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact within a vibrant team environment.

Duties

Oversee daily office operations, including phone systems, emails, and managing a small RV park.
Manage volunteers.
Communicate with board members.
Handle bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks, including invoicing, expense tracking, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
Maintain accurate filing systems—both physical and digital—and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
Manage maintanence schedules.
Assist with human resources functions such as supporting HR initiatives.
Manage company cellphone with professional phone etiquette; respond promptly to inquiries.
Support budgeting efforts.

Qualifications

Proven experience in an office or administrative setting with strong management skills.
Proficiency in QuickBooks for bookkeeping, payroll, and financial management tasks.
Extensive experience with excellent communication skills and professional phone etiquette.
Demonstrated experience in event planning and coordination from conception through execution.
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail; ability to multitask effectively under tight deadlines.
Previous clerical or administrative experience combined with excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships across teams.
