Position Overview
This position is responsible for field operation of water and wastewater treatment equipment for our client. The Operator will be deployed to a remote work site in Northern BC to maintain, inspect and operate company supplied equipment, while staying in close contact with the client and the operations staff. The position would require 2 weeks in camp and 2 weeks off schedule.
Responsibilities include:
· Working with on-site company contracted labor to assist in equipment installation or removal.
· Troubleshoot and carry out equipment maintenance requirements on a periodic basis.
· Work with operations staff on site and identify/contribute to the company’s Continuous Improvement initiatives.
· Improve skill set and knowledge by taking industry and company-sponsored training programs.
· Focus on safety practices and policies while undertaking day-to-day tasks associated with the job or work site tasks.
· Building ancillary equipment as needed (pipe, hoses, lift stations, cords); and various other duties as required.
· Experience in MBR wastewater treatment systems is considered an asset.
· Repair PVC, ABS, and metal plumbing.
· Handling water and wastewater treatment chemicals.
· Interpret lab results to identify inefficiencies in the operation and correct as necessary.
· Inspecting ancillary equipment (lift stations, hoses, heat trace, etc.) at least once every 12 hours.
Accountability and decision-making skills:
· Issue PO's to field contractors as required for on-site services. PO’s to be approved by the office
Education and experience:
· 2-5 years in the remote work camp equipment operations or maintenance
· Approved Level 2 Wastewater treatment operator certification and Level 1 or higher Water Treatment Operator Certification
Other skills and competencies:
· Valid Driver’s License and Safety Tickets. Current 3-year driver’s abstract is required.
· Must be reliable and punctual.
· Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
· Organized and the ability to multi-task.
· Ability to meet job requirements with little daily supervision.
· Ability to organize and maintain accurate equipment files.
· Interest in keeping current with government regulations and industry requirements.
· Excellent attitude toward workplace safety.
· Computer knowledge, skills in Word, Excel, Outlook.
· Good Mechanical Aptitude.

This role requires a capable operator who can take ownership of a working facility and address existing equipment and process challenges.
Candidates without relevant experience operating mechanical wastewater treatment systems will not be considered.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
