Bakers & Assistant Bakers

Avia Bakery – Ottawa, ON

Job Type: Part-time / Full-time
Start Time: 4:00 AM
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Schedule: Early morning shifts, including weekends as required

About Avia Bakery

Avia Bakery is a growing Ottawa bakery specializing in fresh, delicious bread and baked goods made with natural ingredients and a clean-label approach. We are expanding our production team and looking for hardworking, dependable people who take pride in making quality food.

Baker – Responsibilities

Prepare and bake bread and bakery products according to recipes and production schedules
Mix, shape, proof and bake dough
Operate commercial bakery equipment safely
Monitor oven temperatures, baking times and product quality
Maintain consistent product size, texture, appearance and taste
Prepare production for daily wholesale and retail orders
Follow food safety, sanitation and workplace procedures
Keep the bakery clean and organized
Work efficiently as part of a fast-paced production team

Assistant Baker – Responsibilities

Assist bakers with mixing, scaling, shaping and baking
Prepare ingredients and baking equipment
Package, label and organize finished products
Help with cleaning and sanitation
Follow recipes and production instructions
Support the team with daily production and orders
Learn bakery production skills and grow within the company

What We're Looking For

For Bakers:

Previous commercial bakery experience preferred
Strong knowledge of bread and dough production
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good attention to detail
Ability to work quickly while maintaining quality

For Assistant Bakers:

Previous bakery or food-production experience is an asset, but training can be provided
Reliable and punctual
Willing to learn
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Comfortable working in an early-morning production environment

Important: 4:00 AM Start

This position requires employees to arrive at 4:00 AM. Applicants must have reliable transportation and be able to consistently arrive on time for early-morning shifts.
