POSITION SUMMARY
- Effectively records reliable electrocardiograms and analyzes same
- Effectively records signal average ECGs
- Generates a reliable, ambulatory monitor reading and recording and reliably analyzes same
- Safely carriesout exercise tolerance testing to reliably assess cardiovascular response to dynamic exercise, cardio-pulmonary exercise tests and tilt table testing to participate a vaso-vagal response
- Performs proficiency when using equipment
- Assists with the efficient and effective functioning of the Cardiology Department through effective communication skills, the fostering of team building and a family centered approach to care
- Manages telephone transmitters
- Demonstrates accountability for own professional growth through the acquisition, maintenance and growth of knowledge, skills and attitudes essential to the practice of a cardiology technologist
- Participates in continuous quality improvement projects as per job requirements
- Works in collaboration with the health care team
QUALIFICATIONS
- Police Record Check (PRC) (Essential)
- Graduate Diploma in Cardiology Technologist Program (Essential)
- Current registration with OSCT/CSCT (or pending registration) (Essential)
- Demonstrated ability to record and analyze electrocardiograms (Essential)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively record and analyze readings of ambulatory monitoring (Essential)
- Demonstrated ability to carry out exercise tolerance testing (Essential)
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of basic cardiac anatomy and physiology (Essential)
- Paediatric cardiology technology experience (Preferred)
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues, children, youth and their families (Essential)
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team (Essential)
- Demonstrated strong family centered care skills (Essential)
- Bilingualism (English/French) (Preferred)
- Current BCLS (Essential)

Please note that location may be subject to change at any time at the discretion of the employer. All OPSEU members shall be granted an interview upon passing the pre-screening. Pre-screening might include testing.
Effective March 29, 2021, CHEO will conduct a more comprehensive pre-screening and evaluation process. This process may include more varied and multidimensional testing such as a written test, practical exam, or other assessment. All candidates who meet the essential and preferred qualifications may be tested.
Bilingualism (French/English) will be validated by a language proficiency assessment conducted by a third party provider. Candidates will be required to meet the minimum linguistic profile prior to the date of hire.
