Job Overview
Carleton Prime Painting is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Painter to oversee painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in various painting techniques, and a solid understanding of construction and restoration processes. As a Lead Painter, you will coordinate team efforts, ensure quality standards are met, and deliver exceptional results that meet client expectations. This role offers an opportunity to lead projects from preparation to completion while maintaining safety and efficiency on-site.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise painting crews on multiple projects, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to high-quality standards
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine project scope and specifications
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primers as needed for optimal paint adhesion
Execute residential, commercial, and industrial painting using various techniques including restoration and schematics-based applications
Operate hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and carpentry skills to facilitate surface preparation and finishing
Manage project timelines through effective time management practices while coordinating with clients and team members
Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times to maintain a secure work environment
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service throughout the project lifecycle
Perform touch-ups, repairs, and detailed finishing work to ensure a polished final appearance

Requirements:

You MUST have your own daily vehicle (MANDATORY)
Proven experience in residential & construction painting, restoration, or industrial painting environments (5+ years heavily preferred)
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction documentation
Skilled in residential and commercial painting techniques using hand tools and power tools
Ability to perform rigging tasks and handle carpentry-related duties as needed for surface preparation or structural adjustments
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients effectively
Demonstrated time management skills to meet project deadlines consistently
Experience with caulking, surface prep, and finishing details for high-quality results
Ability to lead a team while maintaining safety standards on-site
Prior experience in customer service is a plus for client interactions
