DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Prepare the operating room by completing the setup, stocking, cleaning and closing procedures to ensure a sterile and efficient environment.
- Conduct detailed preoperative interviews and health history assessments for each patient to gather comprehensive information.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their responsible parties regarding postoperative pickup and care instructions.
- Collaborate closely with Anesthesia, Surgeon, and PACU staff to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Assist the anesthesia team with airway management, IV initiation, monitor placement, and patient positioning to ensure a smooth surgical process.
- Serve as a Circulating Nurse for Adult and Pediatric Dental and Oral Surgery, as well as Plastic and Orthopedics.
- Organize required equipment and supplies for surgery, manage the opening of sterile supplies, and maintain thorough pre and intraoperative documentation.
- Facilitate the transfer of patients to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Ensure the cleanliness of the operating room and provide support to PACU staff as needed.
- Maintain current certifications in ACLS, PALS, and CPR. Training can be provided for successful applicants lacking these certifications.
Essential Qualifications/ Skill Set:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Registered Nurse (RN) License with relevant clinical experience, preferably in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
- Recognized Perioperative Nursing Certificate.
- 1+ year experience in a similar role in an operating room environment.
