Full job description

Are you passionate about pets and enjoy helping people? Pet Valu Rideau is looking for a friendly, energetic Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you'll provide outstanding customer service while helping pet parents choose the best food, treats, toys, and supplies for their pets. Whether you're already knowledgeable about pet care or eager to learn, we'll provide the training you need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome customers and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping experience
Assist pet parents in selecting products that best meet their pets' needs
Process purchases accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system
Receive, unpack, and stock merchandise while maintaining organized displays
Perform general store maintenance, including cleaning, merchandising, and inventory replenishment
Assist with receiving deliveries, including lifting and stocking pet food and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs.
Complete basic operational tasks such as order preparation, cash handling, and other daily store duties
Support the team with additional responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

Previous retail, customer service, or sales experience is considered an asset
Comfortable using a POS system and handling cash transactions
Friendly, approachable, and committed to providing excellent customer service
Able to lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Reliable transportation to and from the store
