Position: Commercial Roofing Estimator
Location: Ottawa
Posting Type: Open vacancy

Our client, a well-established and growing player in the commercial roofing industry, is currently looking to add a Commercial Roofing Estimator to their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned estimator who enjoys balancing office-based work with on-site project involvement.

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering accurate, competitive bids while collaborating closely with internal teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Visit job sites to take precise measurements and assess roofing conditions, materials, and project requirements
Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate estimates
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals within deadlines
Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients to clarify project scope and requirements
Source and obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and industry standards
Support contract negotiations and assist in project handoff to operations upon award
Track and manage bid documentation and estimation records

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial roofing estimating
Strong understanding of roofing systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Proven experience conducting site visits and taking field measurements
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as required
