Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of tiles in retail and commercial settings, ensuring precise craftsmanship and adherence to project specifications. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your expertise in flooring installation and tile laying to contribute to high-quality finishes. A strong understanding of blueprint reading, carpentry, and handyman skills will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

Measure and prepare surfaces for tile installation, ensuring proper surface leveling and surface integrity
Cut, shape, and lay tiles using hand tools with precision to meet design specifications
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to execute accurate tile layouts
Mix and apply mortar, grout, and caulking to secure tiles and seal joints effectively
Install flooring, walls, backsplashes, and other tiled surfaces in accordance with safety standards and client expectations
Perform minor carpentry tasks as needed for framing or surface preparation
Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly
Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure timely completion of projects

Qualifications

Proven experience in tile laying, flooring installation, or related construction work
Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, cutters, levels, and saws
Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately
Strong knowledge of construction practices, including drywall preparation and carpentry skills
Experience with caulking, grout application, and surface sealing techniques
Handyman experience or general construction skills are a plus
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks safely
