Senior Structural Engineer

Venor is proud to partner with Tiller Engineering Inc. in their search for a Senior Structural Engineer.

At Tiller Engineering, you’ll join a team that has built its reputation on delivering practical, innovative structural engineering solutions for over two decades. Since 2001, Tiller has partnered with clients across the telecommunications, infrastructure, and energy sectors, providing engineering expertise on projects that strengthen communities throughout Atlantic Canada.

As the company continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer who is eager to take on technically challenging work, mentor others, and play an influential role in shaping projects from concept through completion.

This is an opportunity to step into a senior technical role where your expertise will directly influence the success of a wide variety of projects. You’ll lead structural analysis and design, provide technical oversight, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and build trusted relationships with clients and project partners.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll provide technical leadership throughout all phases of project delivery by:

Leading structural analysis and design for projects across the telecommunications, infrastructure, and energy sectors.
Preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
Conducting structural inspections, field investigations, and condition assessments.
Working directly with clients, contractors, and project teams to develop safe, practical, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Reviewing the work of engineers and designers to ensure technical excellence and quality.
Evaluating existing structures and recommending solutions to improve structural performance and integrity.
Supporting conceptual design, feasibility studies, project planning, and cost estimating.
Utilizing structural analysis and engineering software to deliver efficient, high-quality designs.
Maintaining project documentation in accordance with Tiller’s Quality Management System.
Contributing to project delivery through technical leadership and project coordination.

What You Bring

A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
Approximately 15-20 years of structural engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of structural design principles, Canadian codes, and engineering best practices.
Experience performing structural inspections and field assessments.
Proficiency with structural analysis software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to solve complex engineering problems independently while mentoring and supporting others.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
