Current openings: Saw Operator/Material Processing - Full time with immediate selection and onboarding available

Wage: $25 - $31/hr

Location: 1390 Springhill Rd., Parksville, BC

General Description of Position/Duties:

Operate horizontal and vertical bandsaws to cut and process metal materials according to specifications. Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, material preparation and labelling, safely operating forklifts and handheld tools, and maintaining quality and accuracy throughout the production process. The role requires adherence to all safety procedures, the ability to read measuring devices accurately, and working effectively both independently and within a team in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Responsibilities Include:

Load and unload material off of the saws
Safe operations of forklifts and other handheld tools
Part prep / labelling
Follows all safety guidelines regarding safe operations of all equipment and shop movement.
Can not only work independently but also contribute to our team atmosphere.

Qualifications:

Experience with saw cutting (horizontal or vertical bandsaws an asset)
Capable to accurately read a tape measure or other measuring devices
Forklift experience / certification an asset (will in-house certify candidate)
Good with repetitive tasks
Organized with an outstanding attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Experience in metal fabrication industry would be an asset
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
A positive attitude and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Punctual and reliable
Able to stand for extended period
Flexible individual with the ability to prioritize a changing workload
Understanding of quality control procedures used during machine operation
Able to meet tight deadlines in a repetitive, fast paced professional environment
Ability to work independently and as a team, self-starter and energetic
Understands or willing to learn material grade and types
