Position: Youth Services Coordinator
Location: Oceanside
Hours: 32 hours per week (permanent)
Salary: $29.17

We are looking for a Youth Service Coordinator to join our Mental Health and Social Services team! Ideally, this individual must be well organized, strong in their knowledge of adolescent development and supportive ways to reach out to youth, experienced in providing trauma informed and culturally safe care and able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Description of Position:
Reporting to: Mental Health and Social Services Team Leader
General Responsibilities:
- Work with youth in the community by providing short term goal focused support.
- Provide Youth Events to the community.
- Community networking with other youth serving organizations.
Program-specific Responsibilities:
- Provide support to youth around life skills, relationships, emotional regulation and socialization through individual sessions.
- Provide services both in office and through outreach.
- Organize and facilitate group youth events that provide youth in the program opportunity to work on developing skills.
- Collaborate with other youth serving organizations to coordinate services to youth in the community.

Cognitive Demands of Job:
- Independent Work - 75%, Task Memorization - 25%, Changing Priorities/Deadlines - 50%, Writing/Reading - 75%
Qualifications:
- Mandatory: Social Services Diploma. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree (Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Criminology, Psychology)
- Mandatory: 1 year experience in the Social Services Field. Preferred: Two years’ experience providing support and outreach services to youth in the community.
- Mandatory: Clear Criminal Records Check
- Mandatory: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
