West Parry Sound Health Centre (WPSHC) has always employed an innovative planning approach aimed at integrating services. Faced with the challenges of rural care delivery, WPSHC has partnered in regional alliances and created internal programming solutions that have benefited patient care and improved services throughout the catchment area.
Today, our uniquely integrated health care organization includes: Lakeland Long Term Care, six Nursing Stations delivering care to rural communities, management of District ambulance services and dispatch, and a full range of in-patient and out-patient programs associated with a 90-bed acute care hospital.
WPSHC's innovative approach to integration has benefited the community through more seamless local delivery of services, improved access to primary care, a wider understanding of local needs and the ability to respond as these needs continue to evolve. Applications are currently being accepted for a Resident Physiotherapist/Physiotherapist reporting to the Clinical Manager. The successful applicant will work as part of an interdisciplinary team with an in-house mentor to provide inpatient and outpatient assessment, consultation, and treatment services, enjoy the benefits of working in a newer facility, and experience a diverse caseload with a wide variety of both established and evolving programs. In addition, responsibilities will include but are not limited to establishing treatment goals, maintaining clinical and statistical records, conferring with physicians, patient teaching, and contributing to departmental strategic planning.

- Successful completion of a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy or equivalent;
- Current license or eligibility for membership with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (Resident Physiotherapist);
- Current membership in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (Physiotherapist);
- Passed the written component of the Physiotherapy Competency Exam (Resident Physiotherapist);
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated ability to manage a full caseload;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team;
- Current CPR basic rescuer certificate;
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and maintenance of high professional standards;
- Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history, and positive work references;
- Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs;
- A minimum of two years’ experience in Physiotherapy;
- Demonstrated skills and experience in health care teaching and supervising rehabilitation assistants and students;
- Advanced Practice Physiotherapist (APP) experience;
- Experience conducting musculoskeletal assessments;
- Superior level of skill, experience, ability, and qualifications;
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle as travel may be required.
