We’re looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our team in a full-time, permanent position based at our Selkirk office. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with foundational accounting knowledge who is ready to begin building a meaningful career in public practice. You’ll gain hands-on experience, work closely with knowledgeable team members, and build your technical skills in an environment where questions are welcomed and learning is part of the job.

- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles gained through education or related experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Junior Accountant, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to a variety of accounting and tax services. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing compilation engagements, including reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and organizing supporting documentation.
- Preparing sales tax returns, including GST and PST.
- Assisting with the preparation of corporate income tax returns (T2s).
- Preparing personal income tax returns (T1s) during personal tax season in March and April.
- Preparing and reviewing bookkeeping, as required.
- Maintaining timely and professional communication with clients and colleagues.
- Building positive, trusted relationships with the people you work with.
- Developing your knowledge of accounting standards, tax requirements, technology, and industry practices.
- Taking on other responsibilities related to the position as your knowledge and experience grow.
